Two years ago we brought our taxes to Amare because we were being audited. My wife failed to file an IRA distribution from a domestic order. We thought that everything was fixed after he did our taxes we paid the tax we owed plus a penalty that he said we owed. This year we went to a CPA who looked at what he did and found a huge mistake. Not only does this guy, not know the tax code he is one of the more expensive tax preparers out there. Over double of what most charge.
I made an appointment with him in Woodbury at noon on a Saturday. Drove a half an hour (a hour total) each way. No answer at the place of business, no one answered my calls. As of 10am Monday, I have still not heard from anyone. Very frustrating to waste an hour and a half of time and not to have a call back. Very unprofesssional experience and I would not feel comfortable doing business with him at this juncture.
